#CommunityConnect
The alumni group of the Vidyarthi Sahayyak Samiti with the help of the #SakalReliefFund, along with other NGOs, has started a food donation drive for construction workers, students, and the disadvantaged people.
Members of the Vidyarthi Sahayyak Samiti are providing food and meals at slums and labor camps in various areas of the Pimpri Chinchwad including Wakad Thergaon. The social work of the students was supported by Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar also known as Hollywood Gurudwara located at Camp, Pune. Through this community along with some other service institutes including the alumni of the Student Committee provide meals for about 600+ laborers twice a day. Gurudwara Sant Mokha Singh has given a great deal of support.
More than 21,000 people have been provided food across Pune and Pimpri – Chinchwad area since March 31. These include students, elderly citizens, devadasis, migrant laborers. On Wednesday, two hundred laborers belonging to the Royal Oak Society in Wakad were allotted Dal Khichdi. Recently, Sakal Relief Fund has given a grant of one lakh to the Vidyarthi Sahayyak Samiti for this initiative.
